New MTN bike category system for 09 racing season
October 12, 2008“The new categories, which closely resemble those used in other disciplines of competitive cycling, have been created to offer USA Cycling mountain bike members a more competitive racing environment. The previous license categories will be replaced with a new system which include Category 1, 2, 3 and Pro designations.” – USA Cycling

Hey All-
In case you are bored on Sunday and want to see me get my butt kicked on national tv, the Jeep KOM race from Utah will be on CBS on Sunday afternoon. I finished 13th, and they focus more on the top 8, so I probably won’t get much coverage. But it was a pretty crazy course and a lot of the big names were there so it should be pretty fun to watch. -Jon Watt

Down, but not out!
October 12, 2008last night (thursday) micah was out on a bike ride and wrecked pretty good…
they ended up taking him to swedish by ambulance with a broken colar bone. by the time we got home that night the bone was on it’s way out of his shoulder!
we went up to vail this morning around 10 to see the same doctor that fixed his shoulder last time(which thankfully held!) and he was in surgery by 1:30!
they put a pin in and he’s in much less pain than he was last night, yeah! we are back home and i’m keeping him drugged up 
…

12 Hours of Snow Mass
September 18, 2008Bikeparts.com team,
Amy Hermes and I raced in the Duo Coed category and placed 3rd less than 15 minutes out from first. What could have happened if we didn’t race on our singlespeeds? Who cares! Team Flying Shopping Cart kicked ass and suffered through 13 laps, 91 miles and 20,000 of climbing. I am waiting on the photos of me leading Lance out on the first lap while wearing my jailbird suit so if anyone sees one online let me know.
The warm up for Snowmass was a few days spent in Crested Butte. Good times but it rained a lot. I had the opportunity to take a group of about 10 on their first tour of Trail 401. At least one bike was older than Colin Osborne on that ride.

Golden Cruiser Ride – August
August 26, 2008Tonight was beautiful! Colin, Jessica, Matt, John, Sarah, Paul and I all headed out for the August Golden Cruiser ride. Colin brought out the chopper and did a great job handling the sketchy bike even when his banana seat fell off! Only 2 more cruiser rides left this year… so make sure you keep the last Tuesday of month free and head to Golden for a evening of riding!

If you need to time travel back to ’86, buy these AWESOME shoes from Vans! I don’t know about you guys, but after Slave Leia, Lori Loughlin was my next big crush! I had dreams of going to prom and breaking out my BMX bike with “Send Me an Angel” playing in the back ground!!!!
