Are you looking for the ultimate trail bike? Look no further than the Specialized Stumpjumper EVO, one of the most anticipated bikes of the year. The 2020 model was voted the 2020 Pinkbike Mountain Bike of the year for it’s “. . . effortless handling and ability to excel on a wide variety of terrain are what really cemented the win, although the massive amount of storage in the down tube didn’t hurt either.” The Stumpjumper EVO has everything worth looking for in a modern full suspension mountain bike.
The 2021 Stumpjumper EVO comes in a wide variety of builds ranging from the $5,000 Stumpjumper EVO Comp to the $10,000 S-Works. One of the Bikeparts.com personal favorites is the $6000 Stumpjumper EVO Expert!
The Stumpjumper EVO uses Specialized S Sizing which focuses on rider size and style, not inseam. Six sizes, all with similar headtube lengths and standover allow the rider to choose the size that best suits their individual style. Smaller S-Size numbers are going to be more nimble, thanks to their shorter reach and front-center measurement, while bigger S-Sizes deliver more stability and a roomier ride.
The head angle can be adjusted from three different settings between 63- and 65.5-degrees. In addition, the bottom bracket height can be fine-tuned up or down by 7mm. And an aftermarket shock link allows the standard 29” rear wheel to be swapped out for a 27.5” wheel, without affecting other handling dynamics. The options for geometry customization are endless.
The EVO’s 160mm front- and 150mm rear travel can handle small bumps with ease and plow through during big hits, due to the frames progressive leverage curve. This is unique to The Stumpjumper EVO and was done intentionally by the Specialized engineering team to make the bike “Instant Rowdy”.
